Bikini and Heels

Wow.  A post about me for once!  Hope it doesn't bore you.  I've been training for another physique competition - bikini division.  The competition was this past weekend and I placed 5th!  I was so excited since I don't enter the competitions to win but simply to enjoy the experience of parading in front of an audience in 4.5" heels, a tiny bikini, pose, and be judged ... wait, why do I do this again?  Oh yeah, because it keeps me in shape and they are actually a lot of fun!  I'm more proud to say that I'm pretty sure I was the oldest one in my class and the only brunette to place.  One sweet 23 year old girl actually said, "Wow.  You're 31 and have two kids?  I hope I look like you when I'm an older woman!"  Ummmmm, yeah.  We became friends later on so it's okay, I'll forgive her!
Walking off stage with my trophy.  Placing when you honestly don't expect to place is the best feeling ever.

My trainer, Missy, and the girls she trained for the competition.

Rubbing me down with Pam!
The sweet girl who called me an "older woman".  Hahaha.  Turned out she's also half Korean so I let it slide.  We're friends now.

Loved the lady on the left. She was so confident and cute and like, 70 years old, we all loved her.

Pose off at pre-judging

Where Michelle and I decided to eat after the competition!

Gorgeous Michelle

Waffles, hashbrowns, cheese omolettes, and biscuits and gravy.

On the way home we stopped by McD's.  Mmmm, Oreo McFlurry.
What a fun weekend!!!  Oh yeah, and a HUGE thank you to my dad who drove cross country to watch the boys so I could compete.  He's amazing!  To not have to worry about sitters all day was such a huge weight off of shoulders.  Since Brett's gone, working out and having goals like these competitions has become my passion and to have the support of my dad is amazing.  Thank you Dad!!!

Last Day of School 2011

Eating breakfast before their last day of school.  Cheerios!

Teacher's gifts that I made

Chalk mugs with mini cinnamon rolls on a stick with a Baker's Sweets gift card!

Last Day of School Concert

Andrew spotted me in the audience, screamed, "That's my mommy!" and made a beeline for me.

Spotting Gavin

Hahahaha.  Running to say hi to Gavin.

Trying to hug his brother before his teacher grabbed him.

Still screaming, "Hi Gavin!"

Handsome Gavin.

Poor Drew.  I had moved from where I was originally sitting so he kept looking for me.

Screaming, "Mommy!  Where are you?" in the middle of the concert.

Last day of school picture.

The only way I could get both boys to look up at the same time - saying, "look at the doggy!".  Hence, the looks on their faces.
First day of school.  This sign isn't there anymore so I couldn't take a picture of them with it.
Another school year down.  Can anyone tell me how to stop these kids from growing up?

ABC's

Hamper Fun!
Yes, they are playing in their hampers.  Whatever keeps them occupied!

Typical Sunday with the Rurkas

A peek into a normal Sunday with the Rurkas ...

Andrew, usually happy and adorable in the mornings.  Yes, I said 'usually' because he can be pretty unpredictable!

Someone needs to tell me how I can resist this sweet face!

The boys wait patiently while I get ready for the day ... if you count spinning in circles and jumping from my bed patient.
Drew pretending he's a jet.

Andrew copies almost everything his big brother does.

Best Friends

Love this picture.

As posted earlier, Andrew is pretty clumsy.  This turned into a complete belly-flop with faceplant

"MOMMEEYYYY!!!  My face hurts!!!"  Poor guy!

While Andrew takes his afternoon nap, Gavin makes dinner.  Tonight : pepperoni pita pizzas (say that 3 times fast!) with veggie smoothies.

After dinner is night night time!  Here are the boys getting ready for bed.
Checking out his cute little bum

Toothbrush sword fighting

We also did not go to the gym today.  I can't even remember the last day I didn't work out!  Guess where the boys kept asking to go all day?  Yep, the gym.  I'm glad they enjoy spending time there since I plan to keep out of the heat by going to the gym all.the.time this hot, humid summer!
