Snow in South Carolina!!!

Last January, South Carolina had a dusting of snow which led to panic.  Store shelves were stripped, non-stop news coverage, schools were closed ... you would have thought we were having a blizzard!  This past week we had measurable snow and all of the above ensued but this time I thought we had more reason - I measured 6" in our backyard!

Gavin wanted nothing to do with the snow.  He thought it was dirty and hated having it fall on his hands.  Andrew loved watching it fall but kept falling while attempting to walk through it.  Here are pictures of the winter wonderland in our backyard!

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day.  Sunny and warm.  I took the boys outside to run off a bit of their energy.

Gavin loved drawing with the sidewalk chalk and became obsessed with having me trace an outline of his body!

Here is a message especially for Daddy!

Our friend Emma. As soon as I pointed the camera at her, she made this face.  How cute!

Andrew looked so cute running around with his 'sweatband'

The boys created some sort of game where they lay on their stomach and inch backward.  I'm not sure how this is fun - whatever keeps them occupied!

We have a huge room above our garage.  Until recently, it was used as a storage room but within the past couple of months it has turned into a guest room and most recently a playroom.  Why didn't we do this sooner?

This body pillow is the best $10 I've spent on Andrew.  He snuggles with it, sleeps on it, and I often find him awake after his naps, leaning back on it and waiting for me to get him out of is crib!

I love having my boys with me when I go out.  I especially love that I never have to eat alone!

Happy 21st Birthday to Me!

I have the sweetest husband in the world.  Since we were not able to spend my birthday together this year, he bought tickets for me to visit my great friend Dana in Vegas!  For those of you who don't know Dana, she is Ryan's mom ... Gavin's best friend.  I'm sure you all know Ryan, our old next door neighbor!  In case you have forgotten, here is a picture...

Here are a few pictures from my birthday when we met with friends we were stationed in Korea with for tapas.  Thanks for coming out ladies!

Both sets of grandparents watched the boys in Savannah while I was on my mini-vacation.  I'm sure the boys had a great time.  According to Gavin, Brett's mom and step-dad are both "Bam" (I think from me calling Pam by her name and Gram), my dad is "PopPop", my mom is "Mom" (obviously because he hears me say Mom).

Before I left we celebrated Andrew's first birthday and baked him a red velvet cake.  I would like to make the boys their cakes each year rather than purchasing them from the store.  Let's hope they get better each year!

Little did I know that the cake I made to the left of Andrew's cake would later turn into my birthday cake!

The candles are obviously a mistake.

Andrew's delicious birthday dinner

Gramps got Andrew a chair to match Gavin's.  He was so excited.

I bought Andrew a mini jungle tunnel thing.  The boys go crazy over it!

We went to a nature preserve located down the road from Gram and Gramp's house.  We must have gone during nap time because all of the animals were sleeping.  Here are pictures:

Thank you to both sets of grandparents for giving me the time to get away for my birthday!
