The Y, Slides, Emma, and Shawfest. Phew!

My friend, Missy, and I work out at the YMCA at the same time everyday.  She actually teaches a class that I attend and we never know what to do with the kids after class.  It's always an awkward time ... right after lunch ... right before naptime.  We used to have the kids play on the stairs and ramp in front of the Y - not a very safe spot since it's the main entrance to the gym and next to the street - but we recently discovered a nice, grassy, fenced in area and have claimed the area as our own!  We bring a babygate, snacks, toys ... it provides the perfect place for the kids to run around and the perfect setting for Missy and I to relax after a nice workout.

Our baby gate to keep the kids in.

A pinic bench!

Andrew and Emma

Trapped!

We joke that with summer on it's way, we'll soon have a sprinkler for the kids to run around in.  Really, I wouldn't put it past us.  In the meantime, we are enjoying this time to relax and be outdoors without constantly chasing after the kids!

Andrew
I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned on several occasions that Andrew is a very mischevious baby.  He is not a bad baby.  He's just into everything!  He's the life of the party, a favorite at daycare at the Y, church, and school.  People always comment on how he's always smiling and happy ... When I say that he's a handful, most people wonder how this constantly smiling, constantly happy child can be a handful.  I always say one day he'll give me a heartattack - he's always on the go and not scared of anything!

At 15 months old, he's mastered the slide in our backyard.  No help from me ... he climbs the ladder, sits down, slides to the bottom, screams from excitement, runs to me for a high five and does it all over again.  I've got my hands full with this kid!
Not the kids, but it's my favorite tree (in the background - not the foreground).  My kitchen window frames it perfectly and I love looking at it every morning!

Gavin and Emma

Gavin loves his Emma.  I've never seen him treat a human as respectfully as he does with her.  He protects her from other kids (particularly Andrew), retrieves her belongings, always asks about her ... I'm always amazed at how sweet he is with her.  Emma's absolutely adorable so I don't mind the affection he showers her with - as long as he doesn't forget who the number one lady in his life is ... ME!

Shawfest and the Gambler Gals
Last but definitely not least, Shawfest was this past weekend and the Gambler girls had a blast!  We went to the O'Club Friday night, Hampton's Saturday night, and since Missy's husband is the Viper East demo pilot, she was able to give the boys and me VIP passes (Oooooo!) to the Commander's VIP Tent for the airshow where we had free food, drinks, shade (it was HOT!), seating, center stage to the airshow, and we rubbed shoulders with the likes of Sumter's mayor and other big people in town that I should apparently know but have no idea who they are.  Needless to say, this past weekend an absolute blast - what a way to spend one of my last weekends before Brett gets home! Unfortunately, the battery to my camera died during these events but I do have pictures from the O'Club.

I love all of these girls!  Thank you Air Force for bringing us together!
