Gavin = Ham!!!

This morning Gavin woke up with major bedhead and I had to use tons of hair mousse to tame his hair.  I must have used too much because as soon as we got in the car to head to school, the perfume smell of hair product overwhelmed me.  Whoops.  Anyways, when he showed up to school, his teachers commented on how handsome he looked but I think they were lying.  His hair looked like a wet helmet.  It was so stiff!  Thankfully, by the time I picked him up from school his hair had settled and I agree, he looked so handsome that I had to take a few pictures.  He insisted that I take four pictures for each pose and here are my favorites.  We have a camera ham on our hands!

He's counting how many pictures we've taken on his finger.  This was the first one.

I forgot to post this picture from a couple of weeks ago.  I check on the boys every night before I go to bed and this particular night I couldn't open Andrew's door.  I was able to stick my head in and found this ...

And even after pushing him out of the way to enter his room, he just rolled over and went back to sleep.  Silly Andrew!

Lefty or Righty?

I notice that Gavin always favors his left hand so I thought that, for sure, he'd be a lefty; however, today while practicing his numbers and letters I noticed him switching hands while writing ... and the penmanship was equally good regardless of what hand he used.  Do we have an ambidexterous kid on our hands?
His handwriting has improved so much!

I love these writing tablets that he's using.  I found them at Walmart and they are like mini white boards so he can easily erase mistakes and we don't have to throw them away when he finishes a lesson.

And just because I find this picture insanely cute....
He slept with this hat and wanted to wear it to school in 74 degree weather.

Major League Cutie!

Not much to say about these pictures other than they are C-U-T-E and this kid is growing way too fast!!

He said, "I'm wearing my daddy shirt!"  Brett's flight suit had this patch while he flew with the Gamblers.

He said, "Aarghhhh.  I'm a pirate."

Little Animals

While living in Korea, I always saw the little Korean kids run around with these cute animal hats.  I never bought any before leaving and wanted some for the boys I had a friend stationed in Korea send these hats to me over a year ago.  My children have insanely small heads and didn't fit into them last year so I put the hats away for safe keeping until this year.  Well, I 1) completely forgot I had the hats, and 2) upon remembering the hats, forgot where I put them so they were unable to wear them this year.  Winter has come and gone here in South Carolina and the weather is now regularly in the 70's and I finally found the hats today.  Darn.  Hopefully I'll remember that I have them next winter.

I took this one w/o flash.  I love my camera!
Thoroughly engrossed with the movie, Monster House.

The best I could get.  Gavin is in a size 9.5/10 and Drew is in an 8.

What a great big brother ... most of the time.

My Helpers

The weather has finally warmed up to the point where I feel confident that if I plant flowers, they won't die due to an overnight frost.  The boys love to help me water the flowers each night.  Hopefully they'll be as enthusiastic about helping me in a few years!

My petunias.  I can't wait until they mature!
Hopefully the ivy doesn't overtake the flowers!

The boys love playing around the fallen tree in our yard.  Some of you might remember when a tree fell from a storm last summer.  Well, the stump is still here.  It's a little more difficult to remove since it was literally ripped from the ground.  A nice little fire ant family has decided to set up camp here and the boys love to watch them run around when they throw rocks at it.

Here are a few pictures of the boys at school.  They were so excited that I brought cookies for them to eat while we walked to the car.
Watching Gavin through the door window.

So excited to eat their cookies!

Gavin's homework assignment is to take care of Ms. Dawn's puppy, Lucky, for the weekend; hence, the dog draped over his arm.

Like Father, Like Son

I debated on whether to put this video on our blog as some might find it 'inapropriate'.  I find it hilarious and I sent it out to a few friends and family and everyone loved it so I thought I'd share.  Don't judge!

Yes, that is Andrew's little mouse voice in the background calling Gavin, "Andrew".  Crazy kids.

Mobile Pictures

I always take pictures with my cell phone and rarely put them on the family blog.  Here are a few of my favorite ...
He wasn't on the phone - just pretending.
Airplane!
Cutie Andrew pretending to ride Gavin's bike.
LOVE this picture.  Andrew's saying, "Ew, Ew!" to the bug on his Leapster.
Seconds later Gavin threw the stick and it hit the left goose on the head.  Whoops.
Watching jets fly overhead at the park.
His prized collection of sticks.
Rare moment of calm
