THIS GUY!
Since Brett was missing yet another birthday, we decided to keep it small and only have a party at Gavin's school. We had a Lightening McQueen theme and cupcakes and Gavin had a blast! Here are photos from his birthday party!
These past three years have been the best three years of my life. Why? Because I get to see my Gavin and Andrew grow into such wonderful little boys and, one day, young men who will never forget about their mom. Right boys?
I cannot believe Gavin is now three years old. What can I say about Gavin? For a while I thought he was going to be a quiet kid but, holy cow, has that changed! This kid talks to everyone and anyone. He has become quite the socialite and I think now rivals his dad as to who can make friend with a wet sponge first. His favorite subject is race cars and "race" monster trucks - such a boy!
Organized does not even begin to explain Gavin. Everything must match, be placed in the same direction, be color/species/type coordinated. He always runs around the house with two matching toys - ie, if he has a police car in one hand, he must have another emergency vehicle in his other. Strange kid! If you need further proof, please look at the photos I took the other night as I checked to make sure he was sleeping.
Lego cars
Firetrucks
Aviation
Here he is after breakfast. Notice he doesn't have any Lightening McQueen race cars in this lineup. According to Gavin, those have their own category and don't belong with these race cars.
Other "Gavin Facts":
- Knows his upper and lower case letters and the sounds each letter makes (we're very proud :))
- Recognizes his brother's name when in written form (but not his own - strange)
- Knows his and the entire families first and last names
- Picky.Eater. UGH!
- This kid has the longest legs I've ever seen on someone this short in my life. His pants are all 3T and he's growing out of them ... not in the waist, but only in the legs!!!
- Size 10 shoe. Sheesh!
- Hoarder. When we go to friends' houses, he grabs all of the toys in a 'category' (ie - trucks, cars, balls, etc) and carries them around the entire time we're there.
- Not a good sharer. This drives me insane but has made Drew very good at sharing :)
- Very coordinated. People are amazed when they watch him run. He has perfect form. He can throw a ball straight, kick a ball while running ... I think we have a future athlete.
- GREAT memory.
- Hates getting his face wet.
- WHINER. I seriously hope this goes away soon because it's starting to rub off on Drew.
- This one is embarrassing but he loves bras. When we walk by the lingerie section he goes running for the bras and screams, "Oooo, I love that!". We were looking through a Where's Waldo book and got to the beach scene. He literally pointed at every girl's boob on the page a said, "I like it" to each and every one of them. This gets embarrassing in public.
- He loves to give me hugs and say, "I love you mommy. So much, so much, so much"
- He tries to discipline Andrew. It's so cute but I try to discourage him. He says, "Andrew give me your hand! I said no!" and then smacks his hand. It never hurts Drew and he actually laughs but I need to stop this before they actually hurt eachother!
- Am I allowed to say that he is insanely handsome?
- Fully potty trained but working on getting him to stand and pee.
- I still call him my angel :)
